Moto G Power (2026): A New Mid-Range Contender for the Market

Motorola has unveiled its latest addition to the mid-range market, the Moto G Power (2026), slated for launch on January 8. This device follows the footsteps of the Moto G (2026) and Moto G Stylus (2026) announced last month.

Key Upgrades and Specifications

The Moto G Power (2026) maintains the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset from its predecessors but boosts the RAM to 8GB. It retains the same storage capacity of 128GB and runs on Android 16. The device boasts a larger 6.8-inch 120Hz LCD display, capable of reaching up to 1,000 nits in high brightness mode.

Battery and Charging

Contrary to its name, the battery capacity remains at 5,200 mAh. However, the Moto G Power (2026) now supports 30W charging over USB-C, with wireless charging being removed from this model.

Camera and Security Features

The camera array consists of a 50MP primary rear sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a light sensor that companies often misleadingly present as a camera. The front-facing camera is a 32MP sensor. The device also features an in-display fingerprint sensor and is IP68/IP69 dust and water resistant.

Availability and Pricing

The Moto G Power (2026) will be available from January 8 for $299.99, $100 more than the base Moto G (2026). It will be sold on Motorola's website, Amazon, Best Buy, and through carriers, starting with Verizon.

Relevance to the North East Region and India

The introduction of the Moto G Power (2026) signifies Motorola's continued commitment to the mid-range market, which is significant for consumers in the North East region and across India who seek affordable yet feature-rich devices.

Reflections and Future Implications

The Moto G Power (2026) presents an interesting evolution in Motorola's mid-range strategy, balancing cost-effectiveness with improved specifications. As more manufacturers vie for market share in this segment, consumers can expect increased competition and innovation in the coming months.
