Analysis: Android 16 QPR3 lets you remove At a Glance from your Pixels homescreen

Google Allows Pixel Users to Remove At a Glance from Homescreen

Google Enables Removal of At a Glance from Pixel Homescreens

In a significant move for Pixel users, Google has introduced the ability to remove the At a Glance feature from their homescreens with the Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1 update. This change offers more customization options for users, allowing them to tailor their homescreen layout to their preferences.

Customization Options Expanded

Long-pressing on the At a Glance widget now provides settings, where users can find a new "Show on home screen" toggle. Enabling or disabling this option determines whether At a Glance appears on the first homescreen. If disabled, users can replace it with other apps or widgets, mirroring the arrangement on subsequent pages.

Lockscreen and Always-On Display Visibility

When the "Show on home screen" is turned off but the "Use At a Glance" remains active, the feature will continue to display on the lockscreen and always-on display (AOD). Google has made a modification so that the condition icon and temperature now appear before the day and date.

Rollout and Availability

It is worth noting that not all devices updated to Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1 have received the new "Show on home screen" setting. The stable launch of Android 16 QPR3 is expected in March 2026, which coincides with the next Pixel Feature Drop.

Relevance to North East India and India

This update brings more customization options to Pixel users across the globe, including those in North East India. As Google continues to refine its Android ecosystem, updates like this demonstrate a commitment to enhancing user experiences and fostering innovation.

Looking Forward

The ability to remove At a Glance from the homescreen is a step forward in providing users with greater control over their device's layout. As more updates are rolled out, we can expect further customization options and improvements to the Android user experience.
